The Journal of Current Research and Practices in Language Minority Education is a refereed journal, devoted to surveying
and examining various theoretical, policy, and practical issues
that affect the language minority students' interest to participate
effectively in education.
As language minority students now make up the majority in many
urban school districts in the U.S., and in light of lessening
support for bilingual programs in public schools, it has become
critical for both university professors and school teachers to
be effective in their interaction with language minority students.
The Journal of Current Research and Practices in Language Minority Education transpired from the fundamental principle that the presence
of language minority students is an asset to creating an authentic
multilingual environment in a global society.
Part I contains research studies covering an array of topics,
including the use of technology, examination of program and pedagogical
effectiveness, assessment, and perception. Part II contains reflections
from practitioners who are currently working with language minority
students.
