P101—Introduction to Sociology 3 credits
Prerequisite: None.
Recommendation: Eligible for level 1 English placement.
Total lecture 54 hours. As a survey course, Introduction to Sociology
encourages an exploration of individual human experience as influenced
by the larger social world. In the process, the course examines
fundamental concepts related to the study of modern societies, including
methods and theories, social groups, social power, minorities, social
class and social change. This course is also offered online. Approved
for credit/no-credit grading option. Not open to students with credit
in Sociology 1. (A/CSU/UC) CAN SOC 2
