Scientific Writing

You will find that some of the instructions found in the various web sites listed below contradict each other.  That is normal in this world - figure out what makes the best sense for your task.  The key is to write clearly and with sufficient detail that your reader could reproduce the work that is being reported therein.

http://www.wisc.edu/writing/Handbook/ScienceReport.html - Excellent site for IMRAD format

http://www.hamilton.edu/academics/resource/wc/bio_lab.html - Be sure to check out the seven deadly sins of writing on this site!

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/workshops/hypertext/reportW/ - Purdue's online writing center (owl)

You can find many more useful sites by typing in "how write scientific report" in Google (www.google.com).

Good luck and have fun!
