How much time will it take to complete a course?
Approximately 3.0 – 5.0 hours, IF you give thoughtful consideration to the assignments (Teach Like a Pro!) and Journaling questions. These assignments are important because they help you apply lesson concepts to the real world.

Why would I want to build a journal?
Keeping a professional journal (especially one that is so targeted toward specific instructional situations) will help you in several ways. If you record your responses to real-world situations, you will have a point of reference should that situation arise in the future. You will be ahead of the game, and better prepared to handle the situation. Also, a professional journal is a track of your career…and a written record of the benefit you have gained from faculty development training.

How many tries do I get to complete the final exam?
You will have unlimited tries.

What score do I need on the final exam to pass the course?
You need a 70% or better to pass the final exam. However, your school or department head may require a higher score.

How do I prove that I completed the course?
At the end of the final exam, you have an option to email your results to as many as 4 additional people. To indicate the recipients of your test results, input the email addresses and click on the check box next to each address box.

Can I get a certificate?
Yes, you can. Include the PIE email address in the “Other” box on the Final Exam Results Page. Our address is: PearsonInstructorEducation@pearson.com. The certificate will be emailed to you. Please allow 5 business days to receive the certificate.

What credit cards can I use to purchase the course?
MasterCard, Visa, Discover and PayPal

Is there a print book available for this course?
Not specifically. These courses have resource suggestions that augment the topics found in the course and those are available for purchase if desired. But a book is not necessary to study for or pass these courses. The content is taught in the lesson screens.

Learn more about course contents by clicking the Courses button on the home page. There you can read the course descriptions. If you click on the course name, you will have the opportunity to purchase and take a course immediately.

Can I take the course immediately after I pay or use my pre-purchased access code?
Yes, you can take the course immediately…no waiting!

How long are the quizzes and final exam?
Quizzes have 8-10 questions and cover the content of the lesson. The final exam has 15 questions and is cumulative. There is no lesson quiz for the last lesson in a course.
